The Meadows is certainly a well known neighborhood in the Hawks Prairie area. Built in the late 70's and early to mid 1980's, the subdivision was designed with a template from the 1950's and 60's. When Neighborhoods were meant to be just that, communities designed for families to thrive, socialize, and spread their wings a little.

The Meadows is located at the top of the south western edge of the Nisqually Valley, 3-5 minutes from the freeway, and 12-15 from the military bases (I made that drive for my last seven years in the Army). Until recently the neighborhood was almost considered "rural", and it still has that feel. Although Hawks Prairie is growing like crazy, The Meadows is an island; it's own community with an elementary school, community spaces and play areas, and middle/senior high schools just outside of its boundries.

Large Lots (many more than 1/4 acre), wide streets, and a community design that reduces non local traffic to insignificance are just a couple of the notable of this great neighborhood....

My wife and I raised two boys in this great neighborhood, and our youngest son and his wife are now living in our home in the Meadows and raising their daughter, our grand-daughter, amoung familiar haunts.
